Susan Kroger

Founder, Principal Consultant

Susan Kroger, Ph.D., is an accomplished evaluation specialist and nonprofit strategist with over 15 years of experience guiding mission-driven organizations through growth, transformation, and impact measurement. As founder of Camini Consulting, she supports clients in strengthening their capacity to secure funding, assess outcomes, and implement strategic initiatives that align with their core values and community needs.

With a doctorate in Sociology and Rural Studies and a background in mental health counseling, Susan combines rigorous academic evaluation training with hands-on leadership experience. She has directed multi-million dollar program portfolios, led cross-functional teams, and managed dozens of complex evaluation and grant initiatives across sectors including mental health, education, and public health. Her work has resulted in millions of dollars in awarded grants, improved program accountability, and stronger data systems that support long-term sustainability.

Susan excels in building logic models, writing solid proposals, designing data collection tools, and using both qualitative and quantitative methods to help organizations make sense of their work and communicate their value. She is deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and the power of community-led change, an approach that informs every engagement

Mel Bayles

Grants Consultant, Educational Design Specialist

Mel Bayles, LCSW, is a successful non-profit professional with more than five years of dedicated experience in the non-profit sector, including program leadership, clinical management, mental health counseling, case coordination, education design and implementation, and grant development. Mel combines a deep understanding of community and individual needs with strategic planning and creative problem solving to provide excellent care to clients and communities.

Mel started in the non-profit sector by volunteering at local community organizations. Driven by their passion for non-profit community work, Mel completed an MSW degree from the University of Denver, where they graduated as a member of the National Social Work Honors Society. Mel has since developed a successful and meaningful social work career, serving communities and individuals by providing excellent, empathy-driven care and developing creative solutions to difficult problems. Mel now utilizes these skills to help community organizations receive the resources they need to grow and thrive.

Mel is deeply committed to the work of helping create inclusive, safe, and thriving communities. They are passionate about social justice and prioritizes empathetic, human-centered decision making in all that they do.
